Small Gas Grills Useful Information

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

If you are considering buying a small grill, there are some things to consider.

The main reason small grills are bought is because the space they will be cooking in is limited. So you should first get an idea of the size of that space.

Small grills are often used on patio’s, veranda’s, small balconies, and small yards.  So stand in that space, give yourself extra to move around the grill and then you will have a reasonable idea of what space you have available.

Another great thing about small gas grills is they are usually easily transportable. I say easily however you need to have the space in your auto.  Be sure to check out that area also.

Lastly you should consider the storage space you have available for your grill when not in use. No, you really shouldn’t leave it outdoors when not in use.

When you have purchased your gas grill, make sure to buy a cover for it. This will extend the life greatly, {as it will protect it from the elements and extremes of temperatures}  It really is worth it.

First thing to do having purchased your small gas grill is log it with the manufacturer, Why?

1. You invoke your 1 year guarantee.  So many people forget to do this, and yes sometimes things can go wrong with them.

2. The supplier will usually keep you informed on latest parts and accessories available for your grill.

3. But the main reason to register, is in case there is a re-call on your grill or any part of it.  This applies to all grills, petite, big, cheap, expensive.  This is most unusual but can occur with any purchase you make.

Don’t think of re calls as negative, in fact they are positive and show that the supplier listens to complaints and issues with their product, and is willing to take the responsible step of doing something about it.  So look at re-calls as a good thing, you will usually get a full refund or a brand new replacement.

Now the boring bit is that you should clean it after use. That is, if you really want to get value out of your grill. Keep it well maintained and you will get years out of your grill. Oh yes, and make sure you use the cover, they do not work very well when left in the box.

How much should you pay?  You do not need to pay a lot for your grill. The most crucial thing is that it suits you, and that it fits the place intended for it.

And finally, remember a small gas grill doesn’t have to be for warm weather only.  You can have endless fun all wrapped up on a cold winter day, sitting outdoors sampling nourishing grilled food on the tiniest of grills.

Portable Gas Barbecues Where I Take Mine

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Almost everyone has felt the pleasure of eating outside when the weather is good. Cooking and eating outdoors is fun and pleasurable. Maybe it comes from the fact that way back our ancestors ate under the stars. I have used gas grills for many years now, and the pleasure I get out of my weber portable gas grill is priceless.

It’s not only my outdoors that it gets used in but it travels all over with me and my tribe. Our portable baby can be seen in our family photo albums.

If you already have, or intend to get a portable gas grill, then do not just use it at home.  You are missing out. I get so much more out of mine. If you get the right portable grill then it should be lightweight enough to easily carry around with you, and tough enough to handle all the bangs and bashes it gets when you throw it around, in and out of the car etc.. These are just some of the places you should consider taking your grill to:

Bring it with you when you go visiting your friends. Even if they have their own grill, you will find that when they are having a gathering, you can’t go wrong having a spare grill going around. Works great if you have strict vegetarians who do not like their vegetables grilled near meat.

Most open air swimming baths now have areas especially for you and your kids to have a meal bring it along with you there.

The beach is a great place to fire up your grill.

Take it to the playing fields, many parks have a cooking and eating spot, it’s great if you don’t have a back garden, or your garden is too small for a bigger group.

Just throw it in the back of your car on a family outing, pull over when you find a great spot, and start grilling.

Not only do you get to save money, but you get far more pleasure and at least you know what you are eating and where it has been cooked.
